Today more and more people are looking for sustainability, especially when we are looking for DIY products in order to save money other than hiring a contractor. What do we mean by sustainability? Well, let’s start by defining sustainability.
Sustainability is the ability to be sustained, supported, upheld, or confirmed. To explain it from the perspective of environmental science, not being harmful to the environment or depleting natural resources, and
thereby supporting long-term ecological balance.
Many times we shop at big box outlets searching for something we need for our small repair. After jumping into the car, driving to the store, shopping for what we need, to do our repair, jump back into the car, prepping our DIY job, while we get ourselves worked up and excited to do the job ourselves to save money and brag, we are soon disappointed that the product didn’t hold up to their promise. The product was not sustainable. Now we jump in our car again, go back to the store, spend time in a line at the return counter to complain about our dissatisfaction with the product and maybe, we get our money back? Look at all the time spent, not to mention the disappointment of not completing our task, which we were so excited to accomplish. Our DIY industry needs green product with sustainability that will uphold what it claims and easy for us to use.
If you know of a great product that you were very pleased about, please let us know. Yes, we need to save money but, we also need to save time and most importantly we want a feeling accomplishment.
